Our custom client recently hosted a concert at her new luxury Zinn home, designed and built to her modern aesthetic in Chapel Hill’s Rockford, not far from the village of Carrboro.
The main floor casual living area of her home was designed especially for music events and for family gatherings. The family room has a music nook, where the baby grand piano, other instruments and sheet music are positioned.
The open floor plan space includes an upscale custom kitchen with modern range hood, quartz countertops and backsplash. Rope lighting under the kitchen island provides extra drama.
A large Moooi globe light (a high-end Dutch brand), especially sourced for this home provides plenty of twinkle above the dining table. Zinn Design Build is known for inventive resourcing of materials not common to the Chapel Hill market. The powder bathroom sink was purchased in Italy. The primary bathroom marble mosaic was sourced in San Francisco.
Our client requested plenty of walls for her art collection plus lots of light. ZDB provided both, incorporating 10’ high white walls and strategically placed 12’ wide sliding doors flooding space with light and leading to a patio, pool, and firepit. A modern horizontal fireplace is the centerpiece of this happy family room.
I had the pleasure of attending our client’s first intimate concert, filled with music both modern and classic. Within her modern, elegant space, there was modern elegant music, and delicious yummy food! Many thanks!
